How it started

Earliest Memories

FASCINATED BY VEHICLES

“From my earliest memory, I was always fascinated by vehicles and engines, building model kits and Go-Karts or ‘Bogeys’ as we called them in Scotland. Taking them apart and putting them back together, even better than when they started, with modifications to make them faster. This fascination was fuelled by my father’s passion for cars and bikes. By age twelve,I had my first job prepping cars in a busy body shop.”

BIGGEST ENGINE

“My father had always driven the biggest engine of any model, like a V6 Granada Mk1 and many Citroen CX models including a GTi. Then along came the Rover SD1, our first build for a car show.”

THE CAR BUILT IN THE STREET

“The car was built in the street and it was named Golden Brown because everything was powder coated Gold with contrasting brown. I painted the body at age 16 and it won best in class!”

PHILOSOPHY OF PASSION AND DETAIL CONTINUES

“We went on to have thirty-two SD1’s and we worked on all of them in the street! This is where we had enough, so a unit in East Kilbride was found and the hobby continued. My father sadly died but his philosophy of passion and detail continues in every vehicle I work on like my 1977 Rover 3500 which has won many awards since its completion.

SUPERCHARGING, HORSEPOWER

The journey continues with bigger engines, Supercharging, and more horsepower with many more classic and performance cars to come.”
